T-Mobile Pulls The Plug on Service in Connecticut Town Over Rent Dispute

T-Mobile customers in Weston, Connecticut are having connection problems because of a money dispute between T-Mobile and the town. The town owns a cell tower and wants T-Mobile to pay $88,200 per year to use it, but T-Mobile only wants to pay $30,251.76.

Verizon and AT&T agreed to pay what the town asked ($94,000 and $85,000 per year), but T-Mobile refused. Instead of paying more, T-Mobile decided to shut down their equipment on the tower, leaving customers with poor service.

Next time a carrier tells you they can’t afford to increase your rent to a $1,000 a month you’ll know why.
