DISH serves $23 Billion worth of prime spectrum to AT&T
AT&T just made a huge purchase that will make your phone work better. The company spent $23 billion to buy wireless spectrum from EchoStar (the company that owns DISH wireless). Think of spectrum like invisible highways in the air that carry your phone calls and internet data.
This deal gives AT&T 50 MHz of new spectrum across the whole country. That means faster internet speeds and better phone service for AT&T customers everywhere. The company plans to start using this new spectrum right away to improve their 5G network.
What's really cool is that AT&T will also help EchoStar's Boost Mobile customers by letting them use AT&T's network. It's like two companies working together to give everyone better service. AT&T says this purchase will help them become America's best connectivity provider.
